Who We Are

Welcome to the Museum of Music Technology (MMT)—where history meets innovation and legendary instruments come to life!

 

Created by EMEAPP (Electronic Music Education and Preservation Project) , MMT is the ultimate destination for music lovers, historians, and technology enthusiasts alike. EMEAPP, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2017, has been dedicated to preserving a vast private collection of rare and historically significant musical instruments and equipment.

 

Now, with the grand opening of MMT, we’re making this incredible collection more accessible than ever! For years, tours were available only by appointment—but now, booking your visit is effortless with our online reservation system. And that’s just the beginning! MMT is rolling out an exciting lineup of concerts, lectures, workshops, and lessons, giving guests an immersive experience with the groundbreaking instruments that shaped the sound of music.

LEGENDARY COLLECTION

WE CAN’T WAIT TO SHOW YOU AROUND!

When you visit MMT, you will experience over 33,000 sq feet of exhibition space filled with some of the rarest and most valuable pieces in music technology history. The Museum has exhibits about acoustic instruments, electronic instruments of all sorts, effects pedals, amplifiers, recording equipment – if it is in any way related to the technology behind music, you will likely find it represented in our building.

In addition, many of the instruments and equipment at MMT come with serious provenance! When you visit, you’ll see pieces that were once owned and/or used by amazing artists and composers across all genres, including:

When you visit MMT you’ll experience EMEAPP’s mission first hand—MMT is where musical history comes to life, and the next generation is inspired.

Our team of expert technicians works tirelessly to keep our collection in top playing condition, overcoming the challenges of scarce documentation and elusive “unobtainium” parts. At any given time, multiple instruments are undergoing minor repairs, while select pieces are receiving full-scale restorations—ensuring these iconic sounds endure for years to come.
